The regeneration company Liverpool Vision has unveiled a £1.5bn revival project that aims to make Liverpool a "world-class city" within a decade.

Computer giants to invest £200m in Ireland

Cisco Systems is to build a new £100 million 50,000 sq ft. manufacturing facility in Dublin as part of an European expansion drive. In a separate development IBM has announced that it is to build a new £100 million data centre. The centre will be an extension to the company's campus in Mulhuddart. Recently Intel announced plans to build a £2 billion microchip manufacturing plant near Leixlip.

Plans for south Wales scheme

Wyn Holloway, the owner of Merthyr Tydfil's football club, is drawing up plans for the redevelopment of a 580 acres site in the south Wales town as a £150 million mixed-use leisure scheme. The proposals include retail facilities, a football stadium, multiplex cinema, swimming pool, sports village and water front restaurants and bars. There will also be a major office element and a 150-unit residential scheme.

Art gallery allocates £20m for improvements

£150m extension planned for Croydon's Whitgift Centre

Plans for a major expansion of the Whitgift Shopping Centre, Croydon, has been submitted to the London Borough of Croydon by the joint owners of the centre. Barclays Property Investment Ltd (020 7747 1700) manage the centre for seven institutional investors.

Ipswich Borough Council (01473 262 626) is to consider plans from Beazer Homes for a £50 million development on the town's waterfront, including 500 homes and new commercial and retail space.

Habitat in hunt for central London HQ

Habitat is looking for a 50,000 sq.ft headquarters in central London with goods transport links. The furniture retailer needs a building or development site suitable for 30,000 sq.ft of offices and a 20,000 sq.ft flagship store. Catella Property Consultants Ltd (020 7915 6800) is advising Habitat.

Debenhams to add 11 new stores

Debenhams (020 7408 4444) plans to open another 11 department stores over the next four years. It will open in Carlisle, Sunderland, Milton Keynes, Uxbridge and Oxford over the next year. It is also planning branches in Newcastle and East Kilbride. Debenhams has decided not to bid for any of the 109 stores that C&A has put on the market.
